Our approach
Your identity, our focus
We offer a comprehensive, sensitive, and adaptive approach to counselling, placing a strong emphasis on affirming diverse identities and experiences, particularly for neurodivergent individuals and those from marginalized communities.
-
Many of our clients are neurodivergent, LGBTQ2SIA+, and/or racialized. We acknowledge systemic gaps and trauma experienced by many in these communities and work with you to affirm and thrive in your own identity.
-
We work together with you to learn and understand your needs and values and support you in achieving your goals.
-
We are aware of common trauma experiences of marginalized populations. We take things at a pace that feels right for you while allowing opportunities to foster insights and growth.
-
We explore and support you in enhancing self-awareness and acceptance, and rediscovering and sharing the innate gifts that you have.
-
We explore what works and what does not work, and use a flexible approach to best fit your changing needs.
-
We do ongoing learning and work to recognize and speak to the impacts of colonialism, racialization, and marginalization of certain groups in our practice; and we take responsibility for regularly examining our own assumptions and biases based on our internalized culture.
-
We explore the ways in which wellbeing and thriving are impacted by social contexts - including experiences of marginalization, discrimination, and stigma.
Individual and family counselling
Empowering change
We are a small, carefully selected team of registered social work clinicians who work closely together and collaboratively with clients to disrupt deficit-oriented perspectives on mental health and neurodivergence and to support people in enhancing self-awareness and acceptance, well-being, confidence, mental health, and relationships.
*Please note we are only offering virtual (phone or video) counselling at this time.
